The Broken Ones
I know they've hurt you bad
Why hide the scars you have
Baby let me straighten out your broken bones
All your faults to me make you more beautiful
I can't help it I love the broken ones
the ones who need the most patching up
the ones who never been loved
never been loved
never been loved enough
Maybe I see a part of me in them
The missing piece always trying to fit in
the shattered heart hungry for a home
no you're not alone
I love the broken ones
You don't have to drive with your headlights off
It's a pocket knife, not a gift from God
Don't you learn of love from the love they kept
I will be your anchor, slowly, step by step
Maybe we can rip off the bandage
Maybe you will see it for what it is
Maybe we can burn this building holding you in
Love this Dia! I'm so happy that your dreams are finally coming true! You deserve it!!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful song <3 You are such an inspirational person.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for Red!
Great work. So which one was a collaboration with foster the people? So excited to hear your writing voice.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this amazing song, it's really touched me deeply. We are all broken in our own way, aren't we? And I think most can relate to the words and your emotion(if they can't then they don't have a freaking heart!).
ReplyDelete"I've got my words..I hope they heal you."
You've helped heal me in more ways than you'll ever know.
:)
Dia, I am increasingly proud to be your fan.
ReplyDeleteI love how this song makes me feel and think. You're the best.
ReplyDeleteListened to the first song on ITunes. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis song is amazing! I love the music video too! :)
ReplyDeleteI love this song and it makes me feel so much passion for those who are broken, including a bit of myself.
ReplyDeleteI adore this song. I feel like it was written with me in mind! It's rare to have a song so many people can relate to. I love the vocals. Can't wait for the album. Thank you Dia! You're fantastic.
ReplyDeleteWho wrote this song?
ReplyDeleteThe fist couple of lines in the chorus are remarkably similar to the chorus from "The Broken Ones" recorded by the Talley Trio and later by Guy Penrod written by Jerry Salley.
It's the same title and the chorus starts with a very similar line. Whoever wrote this had to have heard the other song first.
Wow! What DBM said. I love the Talley Trio song, also entitled "The Broken Ones" and have loved it since it came out on the trio's 'Stages' release in 2007.
ReplyDeleteIf you've never heard the song you really should.
The first line of the chorus is, "She loves the broken ones, the ones that need a little patchin' up."
Wow! What a coincidence, huh?!!?
Wow, this was posted on my birthday! Happy late birthday to me, lol :D
ReplyDeleteI love her! I also like that she posted the words so you know for sure that they're right. But I have one question: Where are the rest of the words to the song?
